Your niche affects many things including:
- Your sale
- How much effort should you invest in customer service
- If there are repeaters

Your niche is broken down into parts: price, target audience, market opportunities.
First, let’s talk about pricing.
At the most basic level, we all understand this concept.
The cheaper you sell, the more likely you are to buy, but the lower your Average Order Value (AOV).
The more expensive the items you sell, the fewer people will buy, but the higher your AOV.
Where do you draw the line Is there a lower price to remember?
There aren’t any hard and fast rules, but make sure your item is priced at $ 100 or more.
Think about it like this:
Whether you’re selling a $ 20 item or a $ 100 item, the time and energy you spend processing and fulfilling your order will be the same.
Better to get more value for your money (or, in this case, make money for your time), right?
Brand loyalty, popularity, and longevity also need to be considered.
Start with brand loyalty.
Simply put, you want to avoid niches that are already dominated by household names.
Step 2: choose between drop shipping or keep your own product:

Dropshipping is very popular, but like any other, it has its own set of challenges.

With drop shipping, virtually anyone can participate in e-commerce.
Even high school students still benefit from their mothers and fathers.
But there is something that is not so great about dropshipping:
First, you don’t have full control over compliance.
In fact, the idea of raising your legs while an outside company works on your compliance is pretty attractive.
Step 3: remember your company name and register your domain name:
Your company name isn’t built up or broken like the niche you chose, but it’s still very important.
However, if you are not careful, the online store may no longer be open.
People are obsessed with choosing a name, I know. My advice is to set a strict period of 1-2 weeks for name choice if you’re really stuck. Otherwise, you’ll spend months figuring it out and never pull the trigger at first.
Here are a few do’s and don’ts to help you choose a name.
Choose a name that is easy to pronounce.
Spelling is difficult folks! Hence the name should be spelled out for ease of pronunciation. Otherwise, you may be able to access the wrong URL.
Choose a name that has meaning.
If it’s related to the niche you’re in, it makes it easier for people to “keep” your business. If it has a deeper and more personal meaning, it’s a great inside story of media marketing.
Be as original as possible.
Kentucky-based businessman Victor Moseley has opened a lingerie store called Victor’s Secret. Victoria’s Secret immediately filed a lawsuit against him.
Select the name of an available .com domain.
As the end of .cos and other domains grow in popularity, people still instinctively step into .com. You want your customers to find you as easily as possible!
Do not choose a name that is too long.
Your company name must be 1 to 3 words, MAXIMUM! We strongly encourage you to stick to a word or two. Again, the easier it is to pronounce and write a name, the more people will remember it.
Do not choose a company name that combines words and numbers.
It’s not an easy task, but I had to add it. That is, unless you try to make it sound dangerous and unprofessional.
Do not choose a name that relates to a specific product or line of products.
If your plan is to only focus on selling a highly innovative product, you may want to do so. But what if you decide to part ways in the future? You will keep this one product.
Step 4: Select the product that you want to sell:
You chose a niche. It has a company name and a URL.
Keep a document or spreadsheet with all of your ideas. Some things to keep in mind.
- Avoid well-known branded products (I’ve covered this before)
- Look for a retail price of $ 50 to $ 100 for a good margin
- Try to find one with cheap shipping
- Choose a little what you know (and worry if you can)
- Find something to innovate (check out reviews to see what people don’t like about your product before creating better ones)
Step 5: Build a website with Online Store Builder:
There are many platforms to choose from when it comes to building an ecommerce store. One of the most popular solutions in startups is Shopify.

Step 5a: Sign up for a free trial:
You can sign up for a free trial on the Shopify home page.
You’ll need to fill in some details, which only takes 2 minutes.
When you’re done, you’ll be taken to your dashboard.
Step 5b: Choose a template / theme:
Scroll down from the dashboard and click the Customize Theme button.
Here you will find around 10 free themes to choose from.

Once you have your website, vendor, and product, consider setting up your business unit.
The main benefit of this is that your business is run as a separate entity by you, the owner.
This essentially means that you are not personally responsible for what happens to your company and that your personal property is protected from any liability of your company …
It doesn’t necessarily have to be installed right in front of the door.
Starting your business protects your personal property, but you can get started as a sole proprietorship without formal paperwork. However, this carries risks.
My advice is to wait until you are making a certain amount (say, $ 1,000 a month) before you settle in. This allows the company to bear the cost of starting its own legal entity and do so in the long run.
